I was born in a small farming and ranching town in Southeastern Montana. Growing up in a small town, I was taught the importance of hard work, loyalty, honesty, and integrity, and I work to apply them to my daily life. For the majority of my career I was a law enforcement professional who held a wide range of positions that provided an exceptional understanding of the law enforcement field. My experience stretched over 19 years and included work in adult and youth corrections-both facility and community based, as a police officer, a 9-1-1 operator, a communications director, and a dispatch supervisor for the Department of Homeland Security. I also have extensive experience with public relations and public speaking through a life-long career in radio broadcasting. My experience includes media relations; advertising planning and execution; planning, executing, and hosting large public events; and high public visibility.
